A Few Things Britain’s Royal Family Wants You To Forget

They are arguably the most respected and followed family in the world. At the same time, however, they are the most scandalous. Along the years, the Royal Family have endured enough scandals that would fill up an entire season’s worth of Jerry Springer and give a hefty competition to Living With The Kardashians. From the lurid affairs to some bare romps in hotel rooms here are A Few Things Britain’s Royal Family Wants You To Forget:

Prince Harry- The Party Boy:

Yes, he’s married to Meghan Markle and has been a part of admirable causes. But, even back in 2012, Prince Harry had the reputation for being the ultimate wild child of the Royal Family. In August of that year, TMZ obtained photos of the Prince getting down to his birthday suit at a party in Vegas.

The same absent-minded party boy once wore a Swastika to a party in 2005. He has gone on to apologize for the Vegas romp and the Nazi costume, saying that he let his family down. You’re reading A Few Things Britain’s Royal Family Wants You To Forget.

Prince William dances like a weird uncle:

Of course, he can’t quite live up to the high levels when it comes to embarrassing moments set by his younger brother Prince Harry. But, that doesn’t mean they are any less embarrassing. In March 2017, TMZ would publish multiple videos of the Prince in a night-club in Switzerland dancing like an awkward uncle who had one too many cocktails at his niece’s wedding. And at one point, The Sun even obtained photos of William and pals hanging out in the company of a 24-year-old Australian model. Reportedly, Kate Middleton wasn’t pleased with William’s actions.

Kate Middleton’s Oops Moment:

This is yet another moment that Kate might not want to recall. On a vacation to Provence, France in 2012, a paparazzi secretly took photos of the then new Duchess sunbathing “topless”. The photos would go on to be published in a French magazine Closer

A formal investigation had been launched by French authorities in 2013, according to People, and by 2017, six men associated with the scandal had been put to trial. And for the trial, Prince William who was present, had this to say:

“My wife and I thought that we could go to France for a few days in a secluded villa owned by a member of my family, and thus enjoy our privacy. We know France and the French, and we know that they are, in principle, respectful of private life, including that of their guests. The clandestine way in which these photographs were taken was particularly shocking to us as it breached our privacy.”

Charles’ leaked phone calls to his mistress:

We can talk on for days about the downfall of the marriage of Prince Charles and late Princess Diana. However, there will one infamous moment- a phone call in particular made by the Prince to his then-mistress Camilla Parker Bowles from December 1989, which still rings in our minds.

“My luck to be chucked down a lavatory and go on and on forever swirling round on the top, never going down … Until the next one comes through,”

Charles jokingly says at one point in a secretly recorded conversation that was leaked to the press afterward in 1993.

“Oh, perhaps you could just come back as a box …,” Bowles replies. “A box of Tampax, so you could just keep going … Repeating yourself … (laughing). Oh, darling, oh I just want you now.”

Yeah, that really did happen. But the duo survived this scandal and went on to marry in 2005. Quite the story we have here on A Few Things Britain’s Royal Family Wants You To Forget.

Fergie and her “questionable” relationships with other men:

Sarah Ferguson’s marriage with Prince Andrew had been full of tabloid fodder. In the months leading up to their separation in 1992, Ferguson was involved with her friend an oil tycoon from Texas, Steve Wyatt. They went on a vacation in Morocco and the South of France in that time, much to the dismay of the Queen. This would send Prince Andrew into a “jealous rage” that would prove to be the catalyst behind their separation. These are indeed A Few Things Britain’s Royal Family Wants You To Forget.

Well, before the dust could settle on that, another scandal broke through in August of that same year. This time The Daily Mirror would publish scandalous photos of Ferguson when she was on a vacation in Saint-Tropez with her financial advisor, John Bryan.

Fergie and the bribery drama:

In May 2010, Fergie was caught on videotape bribing an undercover reporter for News of the World with an access to her ex-husband in exchange for around $750,000. And of course, the press had a field day with the videotape.

Princess Anne’s divorce:

In April 1989, the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II would face rumors regarding the fact that her marriage with Captain Mark Phillips was crumbling. This was only after British tabloid The Sun found four love letters written to her by one the Queen’s equerries, Comdr. Timothy Laurence. To that, the Palace would confirm the existence of these letters and by August of the same year, Princess Anne would be divorced.

And in 1991, it was brought to the news that Phillips fathered an illegitimate child by the name of Bunny. Quite the shocker isn’t it?
