Why Does It Come Out Powdery?
Powdery texture happens when the base contains low fat or low sugar, or when your home freezer is set colder than 0°F (-18°C). The blade shaves the base into dry micro-snow because there isn’t enough fat or liquid to instantly bind the particles together.
The 3-Step Fix: The Magic “Re-Spin”
- Don’t Panic: Powdery first spins are completely normal for Lite Ice Cream and protein bases.
- Add 1 Tablespoon Liquid: Pour 1 tbsp of milk, almond milk, or water directly into the center of the crumbly pint.
- Press “Re-Spin”: Put the lid back on and press the Re-Spin button.
Within 60 seconds, the added moisture + friction will transform the powdery shavings into a smooth, velvety ice cream texture.
