Decibel Test Results
We measured noise levels at 3 feet distance using a calibrated sound meter:
- Idle Motor: 52 dB (Quiet room)
- Smoothie Bowl Cycle: 82 dB
- Lite Ice Cream Cycle (Peak Micro-Shaving): 86 dB – 88 dB
- Comparison (Vitamix 750 at High): 88 dB
- Comparison (Garbage Disposal): 82 dB
Why It’s Loud: The 800W motor pushes a metal blade through a rock-hard block of frozen ice at high RPM. High friction generates acoustic vibrations.
4 Noise Reduction Tips
- Use a Thick Silicone Mat: Place a heavy silicone dish mat or thick rubber pad beneath the machine to absorb counter resonance.
- Thaw Pint for 5-10 Mins: Let the frozen pint sit on the counter for 5 to 10 minutes before spinning to soften outer ice edges.
- Spin During Daytime: Avoid running the machine early in the morning or late at night in apartment buildings.
