Ergonomic Triangle Multi-Grip: Why It Matters
One of the biggest complaints about standard “power drill style” massage guns is hand and wrist fatigue when reaching difficult areas like the lower back or hamstrings.
Therabody’s patented Ergonomic Triangle handle provides three distinct grip positions:
- Reverse Grip: Holds the base triangle to reach lower back, lats, and glutes with minimal arm extension.
- Base Grip: Standard hold for chest, quads, and forearms.
- Pistol Grip: Precise two-handed control for deep trigger points.
This multi-angle grip reduces wrist strain by up to 65% compared to single-handle percussion guns, making self-massage comfortable even for users with arthritis or limited mobility.
10mm Amplitude vs Deep Tissue Punch
Percussion massagers are evaluated by two metrics: Amplitude (how far the head extends forward) and Speed (PPM – Percussions Per Minute).
- High Amplitude (16mm – Theragun PRO): Delivers intense, deep-tissue stall force for heavy bodybuilders and pro athletes.
- Moderate Amplitude (10mm – Theragun Relief): Reaches deep enough to stimulate blood flow and release tension, but without the uncomfortable “punching” sensation that frightens beginners or elderly users.
The 10mm depth combined with 20 lbs of stall force is the sweet spot for daily muscle soreness, office neck/shoulder tension, and light athletic recovery.
The 3 Included Attachment Heads
| Attachment | Material | Targeted Muscle Groups | Firmness Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dampener | Firm Foam/Rubber | Sensitive areas, neck, bone-adjacent muscles | ⭐⭐ Soft / Cushion |
| Standard Ball | Firm Density Foam | Quads, calves, chest, overall body | ⭐⭐⭐ Medium |
| Thumb | Solid Composite | Lower back, trigger points, feet, IT bands | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Firm / Deep |
Noise Level & Decibel Test
Therabody’s QuietForce Technology utilizes a custom brushless motor enclosed in sound-dampening housing.
- Decibel Reading: 54 dB (Speed 1) to 60 dB (Speed 3) at 3 feet distance.
- Real-World Experience: Quiet enough to use while watching TV or holding a conversation without needing to raise your voice. Significantly quieter than 1st-generation massage guns.
