Executive Producer John Lasseter and Skydance Animation Team Up for the Movie Luck

In the past week, it was announced that Skydance animation studios is releasing their first movie since hiring animator, John Lasseter, as the head of their animation team. The movie is set to be released on August 5, 2022, on Apple TV. The movie is named Luck. This is a big deal for several reasons. To understand those reasons, you must first understand more about John Lasseter himself, the animation studio, and the movie. Read on to get all of the answers to the questions you have.

Who Is John Lasseter?

John Lasseter is currently the head of animation for Skydance Animation. He is best known for his time with Pixar Animation. Mr. Lasseter has had a hand in creating major blockbuster films during his time with Pixar, including Frozen, Monsters Inc., A Bug’s Life, Toy Story, Cars, Moana, and Zootopia. He has also helped create many shorts for Pixar animation. During his time with Pixar, he took on many roles, including working as a director, producer, writer, and animator. During his career, he has also won two Academy Awards for his animation work.

What Is Skydance Animation?

Skydance Media, LLC., once known as Skydance Productions, is the parent company of Skydance Animation. While the name may not be one you are familiar with, you are likely familiar with the films that the media company has created. Some of those films include films for top movie series such as Mission Impossible, Transformers, GI Joe, Terminator, and Star Trek. The animation department of this company was launched in 2017, and Skydance and Paramount put together a deal to start making and releasing animated films. Unfortunately for the studio though, animated films take years to create, and by the time animation was well underway, the global pandemic hit. This caused delays, but finally, the first animated film by Skydance Animation is set to be released.

What Is the Movie Luck About?

After years of waiting, Skydance Animation and John Lasseter are set to release their first animated film together. The film is about a lady named Sam who has nothing but bad luck. Her luck is so bad that she is considered to have the worst luck in the world. That all changes though, when she learns about the Land of Luck and travels there to try to turn her luck around. What transpires next is a world of fantasy and make-believe, filled with mythical creatures and characters. As for whether Sam’s luck changes or not, all we can tell you is that you will have to watch the film to find out.

COVID-19 has left many people concerned about their luck. It has also affected the luck of the movie industry as a whole, including this particular film. The film was slated to be released in the fall of 2021, but due to COVID-19 delays, is now set to be released on August 5, 2022. Skydance Animation and John Lasseter are sure that this movie will strike a chord with several people who equally feel as down on their luck as the main movie character, Sam. They hope to bring happiness, joy, and hope with the release, and they too hope that the name of the movie, Luck, holds true and that the film will be a hit.
