Rumors About iPhone 8 (2017) -Introducing to 3D Photography

2017 will take Apple to the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and Apple has something big planned to celebrate the event. We are more than half a year away from the launch of the iPhone 8, but as of Apple’s big and innovative plans for the device, there are already a lot of rumors hinting at the ingenious and marvelous features which will be included in the 2017 iPhone. Let’s take a look at some of them.

Apple is currently testing the prototypes in their R&D sector and there are a lot of them. So it’s not absolutely solid to say that iPhone 8 will have the feature. But some of the features have been disclosed by apple itself. So let’s get into it.

Display

The leaks suggest that the iPhone display will have:

  • A CURVED OLED/AMOLED display
  • The size will be 5.8 inch. (larger than 5.5 inch.)
  • Probably won’t have any home button.

This has also recently been said by sources claiming that a curved AMOLED display is one of more than ten prototypes that Apple is testing. And that the phone could even have a “more-than-QHD” resolution.

Furthermore, Apple is trying to introduce new “sensing technology” in the curved display to distinguish the iPhone 8 from other OLED smartphones. According to the Korea Herald, Apple has tapped Samsung Display to create an approximate of 70 to 100 million plastic OLED units to include in the iPhone 8.

Design

There are not much known about the design. But Rumors suggest it’s going to be a fundamental redesign, with an edge-to-edge display that doesn’t come with the top and bottom bezels where technology like the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the front-facing camera are placed. Instead, Touch ID and the camera may be built inside the display, meaning there will be no Home button. Jony Ive has planned to create an iPhone that looks like a single slate of glass for more than one years, and glass is also necessary if Apple wants to include wireless charging.

Color

Although the rumors are that the iPhone 8 will look like a single slate of glass, there are conflicting rumors that the S-model (iPhone 8s) handset will have stainless steel or aluminum parts that will be of red or color. According to Japanese Apple-centric site Macotakara, the S-model phones will be available in red in addition to the standard black, jet black, rose gold, gold, and silver.

Folding model?

Some rumors also suggest that the models will be folding. But the folding will not be normal but like a book. This is very ingenious and innovative. But just because Apple has introduced a patent doesn’t mean the patent will become real iPhone 8. As Apple has also taken the OLED project in hand, it moreover suggests that the phone will be non-folding.

Performance & Other features

Apple will probably have a A11 chipset built on a 10 nanometer process for the processor. Which is expected to be certified in late January. A 3GB or 4GB ram might be introduced. The phone will also include the new OS 11.

The camera should be a duel lens camera which may or may not support 3D photography. A new iris sensor is also expected to be introduced.

The next iPhone might include biometrics and TAPTIC engine.

As said before the iPhone will include or most likely will include wireless changing. The interesting thing is that the phone may include long range charging which was patented last year.

Release date & Pricing

If we follow the last releases of iPhones we can expect that the phone will be released near the end of September, this year.

The pricing is expected to be close to what the price of iPhone 7 was. Meaning the starting price might be near $649 rising to around $849.
