Ford will finally roll out Waze integration with the SYNC 3 infotainment system after giving showing a short trailer of it in January. The iOS users owning a SYNC 3-equipped car can now project or mirror Waze into the infotainment system. It will give them full access to the Waze maps alongside crowdsourced information regarding traffic, hazards and police alerts. Let’s take a better look at Waze For iOS Is Now Available In Ford Cars:
How to make it work:
Users must have the Waze app and it must be on version 3.0 of SYNC 3. And their phones should also be running on iOS 11.3. It won’t be running through CarPlay because Apple still wants us to be using Apple Maps there. It instead runs on SYNC 3 through Ford’s AppLink; it is like Ford’s own version of CarPlay.
The Waze app will be running on your phone in the situation, however, the mirrored version showing up on the infotainment screen won’t feel any worse off.
