Ex-Speaker John Boehner Shocks The World

The Marijuana Industry of U.S. has a new spokesperson. And it Ex-Speaker John Boehner. Yes, you are reading it right, John Boehner joined the marijuana industry. To put to words, Ex-Speaker John Boehner Shocks The World.

The Republican former Speaker of the House is now a member of the advisory board of Acreage Holdings. Acreage Holdings is a company which cultivates, processes and distributes cannabis in 11 U.S. states. It is shocking to a many because Boehner was “unalterably opposed” to legalization.

“Over the last 10 or 15 years, the American people’s attitudes have changed dramatically”

he spoke in an interview.

64% of Americans that include a majority of both the Republicans and the Democrats want it legalized. This is according to a survey of October Gallup. That has been the most since the pollster began asking this question in 1969. Back then it was 12% who were in favor of legalization.

Former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld will be joining Boehner on the advisory board of Acreage. It holds 35 licenses for the business of cannabis in the U.S. Boehner, who is 68, had been elected first to the House Of Representatives from Southwest Ohio in 1990.

‘Immensely positive’

“We view this advocacy that we get from these two gentlemen as immensely positive for the industry”

says George Allen, Acreage’s president.

These two former Republican politicians are joining Acreage as current officeholders are vacillating on their support for weed.
