HOW TO TAKE PREPARATION BEFORE TRAVELING WITH YOUR BABY

Truth be told; Travelling with a baby is no easy feat-especially if you are a first-timer. It is more or less like going on a trip with rock stars considering all the tote and carry involved.

However, with proper planning and timely preparation, there is nothing more fulfilling and exciting. To help ease your nerves and make the travel successful, here are 7 important things you need to keep in mind for a successful travel experience:

1) Have a Checklist

Before you go on your trip with your baby, I recommend that you make yourself a checklist. While older children can help you carry some of the luggage, you may not have the same luxury when traveling with a baby. Simply put, if you don’t pack it, you won’t have it Your checklist should include essential supplies to pack some which include:

  • Diapers and wipes
  • Receiving blankets (2 or 3)
  • Clothes to change
  • Formula and bottles (for bottle-feeding)

2) Prepare Your Bottles

If you are traveling by air and you need to bottle feed your baby, you need to plan ahead. The TSA is guided by rules particularly with traveling with liquids (with an exception of juices and baby formulas).

According to their rules, the container maximum capacity for liquids is 3-ounces and all the containers should fit in a standard sized (1-quart) zip-top bag.

To avert a delay, I propose that you prepare bottles only with powder. You may also buy formula packs (single-serving). This way, all you need is to add water once you are settled.

3) Consult

If you are a first timer, or your kid has any special needs, it is always important you ask for advice and learn from others experience. In particular, I recommend that if your baby has special needs that you talk to parents with kids with a similar condition since they may have useful tips.

If you know none, I suggest you try out youareable.com or disbledfriends.com. I also propose you acquire an identity bracelet that outlines your child’s condition, doctor, and treatment in case of an emergency (medicalert.org.uk).

4) Go to family-friendly destinations

According to www.psychologytoday.com, a relaxing environment and activities can inspire calmness in your child. With this in mind, I propose that you select a relaxing destination generally frequented by young visitors.

In particular, !would propose a family camp, lazy beach retreat, and nature resort. Get to family-friendly resorts and hotels that allow kids stroll around the rooms of their parents and offer meal packages for them.

5) Bring drinks and snacks

Before you take off, be sure to tote along an adequate supply of snacks and drinks. Whether you are traveling by road or by air, children tend to get dehydrated and hungry faster and as such need constant replenishing.

For suggestions, I recommend easy-to-pack snacks such as whole grain cereals baggies, animal and vegetables and pre-cut fruits and small fruit juice packages among others.

6) Bring along a goody bag:

One of the best ways to ensure your child remains content is by bringing along their favorite toys and doodads. Usually, I recommend that you bring along toys that are safe with no sharp edges and hard surfaces. This will ensure that your kid remains entertained and engaged during the trip.

7) Think safety:

According to NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), 7 out of 10 car seats are incorrectly installed. As such, it is important you ensure that the car seat of your child is secured properly. Also, I propose you include a travel system stroller that is easily adaptable with your car seat. This is to help you walk around with your child at ease once you are at your destination. To get the best travel stroller system with the great car seat I’ll recommend you to visit Stroller Buzz.

CONCLUSION

In the end, no matter your means of transport, the thing is to be properly prepared. plan early, schedule well and pack well and your experience will be nothing but exciting and unforgettable.
