The limitation of presenting the earth diagram in 2D crude metric guesses is no longer the only ways that interpret earth site logs. The geologist and geophysicists use software tools like Earth Volumetric Studio which helps in creating a complex 3D model that accurately display the lithology of the subsurface. Now it is easy to discover dozens of new ways to interpret site modeling into 3D group logs, the ability to build the complex geologic models using indicator directly from logs to geologic modeling. The Earth Volumetric Studio accurately represents the lithology subsurface correctly in the 3D Interactive model. The different sources of data are combined to create the geologic model. The geologists observe lithology of the surface along cross-sections, based on data collected from geophysical data or logs. The lithology data is used to assign geologic material to the cell in the 3D model based on the computation probabilities of every material observed from the site, and then the material of highest probability get selected.
These methods can be put together in a combination. In an example, you can use the topographic data maximum times that constrain the use of grid which you can further use for kriging indicator of lithologic data, and often macroscopic horizons are modeled with stratigraphy, which also is used on probability basis of lithologic modeling of pure refine grained material assignment.
When you produce new data, updating a complex model becomes trivial. Most of the built models are data-driven. As such no virtual drawings are there in the creation of 3D volumetric models, but still 2D and 3D paths are drawn such a way that either tunnel or subset models will be cut out.
Thus by the term data-driven, it means that model is created with the help of data. Although there are still many decision that is taken by modeler concerning modeling process which doesn’t require 2D and 3D.
